So, I was watching "The Purge" the other day, you know, just to remind myself why I should always keep my doors locked. And there's this scene, right? The one where Zoe, the daughter, is all like, "Hey, let's go out and purge!" And I'm sitting there, thinking, "Girl, no. Just, no." But then it got me wondering, just how old is this kid anyway?
Let's Do Some Math
Alright, so we know that "The Purge" came out in 2013, and the sequel, "The Purge: Anarchy", followed in 2014. In the second movie, we see Zoe, played by Zoë Bell, and she's looking all grown up, right? Now, Zoë Bell herself was born in 1978, which makes her a good decade older than her character. But hey, that's Hollywood for you.
So, if we assume Zoe is around 16 or 17 in "The Purge: Anarchy", that would mean she's probably around 13 or 14 in the first movie. But here's the thing, folks. In the first movie, it's mentioned that she's been having nightmares since she was a little kid. So, we're talking about some serious purge-related trauma here. Poor kid.

But Wait, There's More
Now, let's talk about the timeline of the purge itself. The first purge happens in 2022, and it's an annual event. So, by the time of "The Purge: Anarchy", it's been a few years of annual purges. If Zoe is around 16 or 17 in 2014, that means she's been living through these purges since she was a preteen. Yikes!
And let's not forget, in "The Purge: Election Year", which is set in 2025, Zoe is all grown up and working as a political strategist. So, she's been through at least five purges by then. Talk about a rite of passage, huh?

So, How Old Is She Really?
Well, folks, it's all a bit murky, isn't it? But if we're going by the movies' timeline and Zoë Bell's age, then Zoe is probably around 13 or 14 in the first movie, 16 or 17 in the second, and in her mid-twenties by the third. But remember, this is all just a guess. Hollywood doesn't always play by the rules of time and space, you know?
Anyway, next time you're watching "The Purge", take a moment to feel sorry for poor Zoe. She's been through more than most of us can imagine. And then, lock your doors. Just in case.
