From Texas Tech to NFL Stardom

First things first, how did this guy become a household name? Well, Mahomes started his football journey at Texas Tech, where he was basically a one-man show. He'd throw passes like he was playing a game of hot potato, but with, you know, a football and actual skill. After graduation, the Kansas City Chiefs snapped him up in the 2017 NFL Draft, and the rest is history.

Now, you might be thinking, "Okay, but how did he become the face of the NFL?" Well, let me tell you, Mahomes has a certain... je ne sais quoi. He's got this crazy arm, can scramble like a cat burglar, and has a smile that could light up a stadium. Plus, he's got this laid-back Texas charm that just makes you root for the guy. It's like he's the cool kid at the party, and the rest of us are just happy to be invited.

So, How Much Is He Worth?

Alright, alright, you're here for the numbers, not my fangirling. Let's dive into the big bucks. As of 2021, Patrick Mahomes is worth an estimated $40 million. Whoa, right? But hold onto your hats, because that's just the beginning.

Mahomes signed a 10-year contract extension with the Chiefs in 2020, worth a cool $503 million. That's right, half a billion dollars. Now, I'm no math whiz, but even I can do the math on that one. That's an average of $50.3 million per year. I mean, I could get used to that kind of cash.
