How Old Was Owen Wilson In Armageddon

Hey there, movie buffs! Ever wondered about the age of that charming, goofy guy, Owen Wilson, when he was busy saving the world in Armageddon? Well, grab a snack and let's dive into this fun fact-finding mission!

So, When Was This?

Alright, so Armageddon hit our screens in the summer of 1998. It was a time when platform shoes were making a comeback, and the Spice Girls were still ruling the charts. But enough about fashion and music, let's get back to our main man, Owen.

Let's Do the Math

Owen Wilson was born on November 18, 1968. Now, if we do the math (and by 'we,' I mean my trusty calculator), in 1998, Owen would have been a sprightly 20 years old. Yep, you heard it right! The same age as that other famous Owen - Owen Wilson's younger brother, Luke Wilson!

Now, I know what you're thinking. "But wait, wasn't Owen playing a character much older than 20?" Well, yes, yes he was. In Armageddon, Owen played the role of Danny Glover, a driller who's part of the ragtag team sent to save humanity from that pesky asteroid. So, Owen was playing a character about 15 years his senior. Talk about range!

But Wait, There's More!

Now, you might be wondering, "Why the age difference, and why the fake name?" Well, here's the thing. In the movie, Owen's character is supposed to be a seasoned driller, someone who's been around the block a few times. Plus, the name 'Danny Glover' was just a fun nod to the actual actor, Danny Glover, who was also in the movie. It's like a little inside joke, if you will.

And speaking of fun facts, did you know that Owen Wilson actually injured his shoulder during the filming of one of the action sequences? Yep, that's right. But like the trooper he is, Owen powered through and finished the scene. Now that's commitment!
