How Old Is Rumple In Once Upon A Time

So, there I was, sitting at my local coffee shop, eavesdropping on a group of Once Upon A Time fans. They were deep into a discussion about the Enchanted Forest, and suddenly, one of them asked, "Hey, how old is Rumple, anyway?" I nearly choked on my latte. It's a question that's been bugging me too, so I thought, why not dive into the magical world of Storybrooke and find out?

Rumple's Timeline: A Tale of Two Worlds

First things first, let's talk about Rumple in the Enchanted Forest. We know he was once a humble miller who made a deal with the Dark One to save his son, Baelfire. That was a long time ago, right? Well, let's try to pinpoint it.

In the episode "The Miller's Daughter," we see that Rumple's wife, Milah, was pregnant with Baelfire when she left him. We also know that Baelfire was around 13 when he left for our world. So, let's do some math. If we assume Baelfire was born around the same time as the curse, which was cast in the late 1800s, that would make Rumple...

Older than dirt. Okay, maybe not that old, but you get the idea.

Rumple in Storybrooke

Now, let's fast-forward to Storybrooke. When the curse was cast, Rumple was turned into Mr. Gold, the pawnshop owner. But here's the kicker - the Dark One's dagger can stop time for its wielder. So, while everyone else in Storybrooke was aging, Rumple was frozen in time.

In the episode "The Dark Swan," we find out that Rumple had been the Dark One for around 28 years. That means, from the time of the curse until he gave up the dagger to Belle, he didn't age a day. But once he gave up the dagger, he started aging again. So, how old is he now?

Well, that's where it gets tricky. We know that in Storybrooke time, Rumple has been around for about 30 years. But remember, he's been the Dark One for most of that time. So, in real-time, he's probably...

So, How Old Is Rumple?

Alright, let's put it all together. If we assume Baelfire was born around the late 1800s, that would make Rumple around 180-190 years old in Enchanted Forest time. But remember, that's just an estimate. And in Storybrooke time, he's around 30 years old. But again, that's not counting the time he spent frozen as the Dark One.

'Once Upon A Time' Will See The Return Of The Old Rumple, But When

So, is Rumple older than the Enchanted Forest itself? Probably not. But he's definitely older than most of the other characters we've met. And let's not forget, he's got a magic hat that makes him look younger. So, who knows? Maybe Rumple will live forever, just like a good story.

And there you have it, folks. A rough estimate of Rumple's age. Of course, this is all just speculation. The showrunners could drop a bombshell in the next episode, and we'd all be scrambling to update our theories. But hey, that's part of the fun, right?
