How Old Is Lance In Spies In Disguise

So, I was watching this movie the other day, Spies in Disguise, and I found myself wondering, "How old is Lance, the tech-savvy gadget guy?" I mean, he's got this whole 'young genius' vibe going on, but I couldn't quite put my finger on his age. So, I decided to do a little digging, and here we are!

First Things First: The Movie's Setting

Before we dive into Lance's age, let's set the scene. Spies in Disguise is set in the present day, or at least, it's meant to be. It's a world where super-spy Lance Sterling (voiced by Will Smith) can exist alongside a pigeon named Walter (voiced by Tom Holland), who's been turned into a secret agent. Yeah, it's that kind of movie.

Now, About Lance...

Lance Sterling is the main character, and he's a smooth-talking, action-packed spy. He's got the whole ' sauve' thing down, but he's also got a bit of a cocky streak. Now, I'm not saying that's a sign of youth, but it certainly doesn't scream 'old timer'.

But here's the thing, folks. The movie doesn't give us a straight-up answer to Lance's age. It's like they wanted us to focus on the spy stuff and not the fact that Will Smith is, well, not a spring chicken anymore. I mean, no offense, Will. You're still looking good!

So, How Old Is He?

Alright, let's get down to business. Without a specific age given in the movie, we've got to use some deductive reasoning here. Lance is voiced by Will Smith, who was born on September 25, 1968. The movie was released in 2019, so that would make Will Smith around 51 years old at the time.

Now, here's where it gets a bit tricky. Is Lance Sterling supposed to be the same age as Will Smith? Or is he younger? Older? We don't know! But let's assume, for a moment, that Lance is around the same age as Will Smith. That would make him, roughly, in his mid-50s.

But Does It Really Matter?

Here's the thing, folks. In the world of animation and voice acting, age is just a number. Will Smith could be voicing a character who's 18 or 80, and we'd never know the difference. It's all about the performance, and Will Smith certainly delivers as Lance Sterling.

So, while it's fun to speculate about Lance's age, it's not really the most important thing about the movie. What matters is the action, the laughs, and the heartwarming message about teamwork and friendship. Oh, and the fact that a pigeon can be a secret agent. That's pretty cool too.

In Conclusion...

So, there you have it. We may never know the exact age of Lance Sterling, but we do know that he's a great spy, a great friend to Walter, and a great character brought to life by Will Smith. And at the end of the day, that's what really matters.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a date with a movie and a bag of popcorn. Until next time, folks!
