So, you're curious about Marilyn from Home and Away, huh? I mean, who isn't? That show's been around forever, and Marilyn's been a staple since the dawn of time (okay, maybe not that long, but you get the drift).
First things first, let's get one thing straight. Marilyn's not exactly a spring chicken. She's been gracing our screens since 1988, which makes her, well, quite a bit older than you or me. But hey, age is just a number, right?
So, how old is she?
Alright, let's do some math. Marilyn, played by the fabulous Emily Symons, first appeared in Summer Bay in 1988. That's right, the same year that the Berlin Wall came down. Crazy, huh?

Now, if we fast forward to today, that's... well, that's a lot of years. Let's not do the math, shall we? Let's just say, Marilyn's seen more summers in Summer Bay than we've had hot dinners.

But how old is Emily?
Ah, now that's a different story. Emily, our beloved Marilyn, was born in 1975. That makes her... well, let's just say she's old enough to have seen a few Home and Away episodes herself before she joined the cast.
Now, you might be thinking, "But she doesn't look that old!" And you're right. Emily's a timeless beauty, like a fine wine, she just keeps getting better with age. But remember, Marilyn's been through a lot in Summer Bay. She's had more lives than a cat, so it's no wonder she looks a little world-weary.

Age is just a number, right?
In the world of soap operas, age is a fickle thing. One minute you're a fresh-faced teen, the next you're a seasoned soap veteran. Marilyn's been through it all - love, loss, drama, and more drama. She's the original Summer Bay survivor, and we love her for it.
So, the next time you're watching Home and Away, raise a cup of tea (or something stronger) to Marilyn. She's been there, done that, and got the t-shirt. And she's not done yet. Here's to Marilyn - the original, the iconic, the one and only.
