How Old Was David Bowie In Labyrinth

Ever found yourself wondering, "Just how old was David Bowie when he danced with goblins and solved puzzles in that iconic '80s flick, Labyrinth?" I mean, the guy was like a chameleon, changing his look and sound so much, it's hard to pinpoint his age, right?

So, how old was he?

Alright, let's rewind to 1986, the year Labyrinth hit the big screen. Bowie, our beloved Starman, was 39 years old when he played the role of Jareth, the Goblin King. Yeah, you read that right. He was almost four decades old, and yet, he pulled off that mischievous, youthful vibe like a pro.

Now, I know what you're thinking, "But he looked so young!" And you're not wrong. Bowie had this uncanny ability to defy age, kind of like a fine wine, or maybe more like a magical goblin king, am I right?

Why does it matter?

Well, it's not just about trivia points here. It's fascinating to see that even at 39, Bowie was still taking on challenging roles and pushing boundaries. He wasn't your typical leading man, and that's what made him so darn cool. It's like when your favorite band releases an album after, like, a decade. You're just like, "Wow, they're still got it!"

And let's not forget, Bowie was already a seasoned performer by then. He'd been in the music industry for over two decades, had already played Major Tom in "Space Oddity," and had even released his iconic album "Let's Dance" just a year before Labyrinth. So, when he took on the role of Jareth, it was like he was saying, "Hey, I can do more than just sing. I can act, too. And I can do it my way."

Age is just a number, right?

Bowie proved that age doesn't have to define you or limit what you can do. He was 39, but he played a character who was, well, we're not really sure how old Jareth was supposed to be. But that's the beauty of it. Bowie made us believe that Jareth could be any age, just like Bowie himself could be any age when he wanted to be.
