How Many Rings Does Max Scherzer Have

So, there I was, sitting in the stands at Nationals Park, sipping on my overpriced beer, when I overheard this kid next to me asking his dad, "How many rings does Max Scherzer have?" Now, I'm no baseball historian, but I've seen enough games to know that this was a question worth looking into. So, let's dive in, shall we?

Max Scherzer: The Mad Max of Baseball

First things first, let's talk about Max Scherzer. This guy is a beast on the mound. He's got a mean curveball, a nasty slider, and a fastball that's been known to make grown men weep. He's also got a bit of a temper, hence the nickname "Mad Max". But enough about his pitching, let's get to the question at hand.

World Series Rings: The Big Kahuna

When most people think of championship rings in baseball, they think of the World Series. It's the big one, the granddaddy of them all. So, let's start there. As of now, Max Scherzer has one World Series ring. He won it with the Washington Nationals in 2019, which was a pretty big deal because it was the first time the Nationals had ever won the World Series. So, kudos to Max for being a part of that.

But here's where things get a bit interesting. That 2019 World Series was a bit of a rollercoaster for Scherzer. He started Game 5 and pitched seven scoreless innings, only to leave with an injury. He didn't pitch again in the series, but he was still there to celebrate with his team when they won it all. So, does he deserve the ring? Absolutely. But it's still a bit of a weird story.

Other Rings: The Supporting Cast

Now, let's talk about the other rings in Max Scherzer's collection. Before he was a National, Scherzer was a Detroit Tiger. And in 2012, he was a part of the team that won the American League Pennant. That's a pretty big deal, and it comes with a nice, shiny ring. So, that's two rings for Max.

But wait, there's more! Scherzer has also won the Cy Young Award three times. For those of you who don't know, the Cy Young Award is given to the best pitcher in each league every year. It's a pretty big deal, and it comes with a nice, shiny... well, you get the picture. So, that's three more rings for Max.

So, How Many Rings Does Max Scherzer Have?

Alright, let's do the math. Max Scherzer has one World Series ring, one American League Pennant ring, and three Cy Young Award rings. That's a total of five rings. Not too shabby for a guy who's only been in the league for a decade.

But here's the thing, folks. Max Scherzer is still playing. He's still out there, giving it his all, every time he steps onto the mound. And who knows? Maybe he'll add a few more rings to his collection before he hangs up his cleats. After all, they don't call him "Mad Max" for nothing.

So, the next time you're at a game, and you hear a kid asking how many rings Max Scherzer has, you can tell them the truth. Five rings, and counting. Not bad for a guy who's just out there, trying to strike out batters and win games.
