How Old Is The Person Who Made Roblox

Hey there, fellow Roblox enthusiast! You might be wondering, "Who's the brain behind this virtual world of fun and chaos?" Well, buckle up, 'cause we're about to dive into the fascinating story of David Baszucki, the mastermind behind Roblox.

Meet Dave: The Original Builder

So, who's this Dave guy, and how old is he? Let's rewind to the late '80s, when Dave was just a young, curious kid in Canada. He was always tinkering with stuff, taking things apart, and putting them back together. Sounds like a typical kid, right? But little did he know, this curiosity would one day lead him to create one of the biggest online gaming platforms ever.

Fast forward to 1989, Dave's in high school, and he's already showing signs of his future genius. He creates a program called "Interact," which allows users to build and interact with 3D objects. It's like the early, clunky version of what we now know as Roblox. Pretty impressive for a high school student, huh?

From Interact to Roblox

After high school, Dave goes on to study engineering at the University of Waterloo. It's here that he meets his future business partner, Erik Cassel. Together, they turn Dave's high school project into a real, working platform. They call it "Roblox," a blend of "robots" and "blocks."

Now, you might be thinking, "Okay, that's cool and all, but how old is this guy?" Well, Dave was born in 1963, which makes him... drumroll ... a sprightly 58 years young! That's right, the person behind Roblox is older than some of your teachers, and probably even your parents!

Dave's Not So Secret Weapon: Erik

But Dave didn't do it alone. His partner, Erik Cassel, was just as crucial to Roblox's success. Erik was the yin to Dave's yang, the peanut butter to his jelly. He was the one who pushed for Roblox to be free-to-play, making it accessible to everyone. Sadly, Erik passed away in 2013, but his legacy lives on in every block placed and game played on Roblox.

Age is Just a Number

So, there you have it! The person who made Roblox is a 58-year-old engineer from Canada. But age is just a number, right? Dave's passion for creation and innovation has transcended generations, bringing joy to millions of kids (and adults!) around the world.

Next time you're building a crazy contraption or battling it out in a game on Roblox, remember, you're playing on a platform created by someone who's older than your grandparents. Pretty cool, huh?

So, What's Next?

Dave's not slowing down anytime soon. He's constantly working on new features and updates to make Roblox even better. And who knows? Maybe one day, you'll be the next big thing on Roblox, creating games that inspire kids all over the world. After all, you're never too young (or too old) to build something amazing.

Keep building, keep playing, and most importantly, keep having fun! That's what Roblox is all about, and that's what Dave would want you to do. Now go forth, young builder, and let your imagination run wild!
